Where It Matters Most

Every day, across Montreal, people are welcomed, accompanied, and supported by a Church that chooses to be present, up close, in the most human moments of life: with those who are lonely or vulnerable, those searching for meaning, those who have been forgotten.

It is in these moments that dignity is not just spoken of, but lived. Through your generosity, you make this presence possible, and help the Catholic Church in Montreal continue to be the face, the hands, and the heart of a community striving to serve those in need, with love. This is the 2026 Annual Campaign.

Message from the Archbishop of Montreal

Where there’s Dignity, We Are There

During this Easter season, the resurrection of Christ reminds us that every person is precious in the eyes of God. Upholding dignity means welcoming, listening, accompanying, and supporting all those who are vulnerable, alone, or searching for meaning in their lives.

Let us be present wherever dignity is at stake, bearing witness to God’s love and transforming lives every day.

Your gift is a tangible act of hope and solidarity, directly impacting the lives of those in our local communities.

May the joy of the Risen Christ fill your heart and the hearts of all those we accompany.

Christian Lépine
Archbishop of Montreal

They Are There. Because of You.

Behind every life touched through ministry, and every quiet act of service, there is a person committed to being there, and behind them, a community that makes it possible. These six stories bear witness to what your generosity brings to life, in every place where dignity calls us to be.

Youth Ministry

Mario is there for young people finding their way

For more than 15 years, Mario has been accompanying youth across the Archdiocese of Montreal through Mission Jeunesse Youth Ministry, leading gatherings and supporting young people in their faith journey and in their lives. Today, he continues that commitment with his own group, where the seeds planted through Mission Jeunesse have taken root and grown. Through his presence and his readiness to listen, Mario reminds us that simply being there for someone can make all the difference. His story bears witness to what commitment, hope, and generosity make possible — one young life at a time.

Marriage and Family

Bridget is there for couples preparing for marriage

For more than 20 years, Bridget and her husband have accompanied engaged couples preparing for Catholic marriage across the Archdiocese of Montreal. By sharing their own experience and inviting couples into the depth and meaning of the commitment they are making, they help lay a strong and lasting foundation for family life. Their dedication reminds us that supporting families helps strengthen the entire community.

Pastoral Home Care Visits

Capitoline is there to accompany with compassion

Capitoline offers spiritual accompaniment to those who are sick, elderly, lonely, or homebound, visiting them in their homes, offering a listening ear, and a community connection. Through her attentiveness and compassion, she helps those facing some of life’s most difficult moments find comfort and peace. It is a simple yet profoundly human act of love, a reminder of how much a caring presence can restore a sense of hope.

Cultural Communities / Migration

Alessandra is there to welcome those finding their place, with dignity

Alessandra accompanies migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers as they navigate the often difficult journey of building a new life in Montreal. Through simple acts of welcome, attentive listening, and genuine solidarity, she works to uphold the dignity and worth of every person. Her witness reminds us that for those who have left so much behind, feeling genuinely welcomed can help shape a sense of belonging.

Street Ministry / Homelessness

Deacon François is there for those without a place to call home

Through Notre-Dame de la Rue, Deacon François goes out to meet people experiencing homelessness and profound vulnerability on the streets of Montreal. With compassion, a listening ear, basic supplies, and deep respect, he bears witness to the dignity of every person he encounters. His commitment reminds us that those most forgotten among us are never invisible to God — and that through our support, neither are they to us.

Pastoral Personnel / Priest Care and Support

Sr. Natalia is there for elderly and ailing priests who need care and community

Sr. Natalia tends to the wellbeing of elderly, ill, and vulnerable priests, keeping them connected to their families and to their faith community. Through her devoted accompaniment, she ensures that those who have spent decades serving others are themselves served with tenderness and dignity. Her presence is a quiet but powerful reminder that after a lifetime of service, our priests and spiritual fathers are never left to walk that journey alone.
