OUTWARD-BOUND
Called by MY Name,
Sent in His Name
BEING CHURCH NOW AND POST PANDEMIC
Saturday, November 21, 2020
10 a.m. – 12 p.m. ET
Called by My Name,
Sent in His Name
As Christians, we live in relationship – in community – with God and with each other. But it doesn’t stop there.
We are called to go out into the world. But how?
Especially now, as we live through a world-altering pandemic, how can we move forward as an outward-bound church? What does it look and feel like?
Join Archbishop Paul-André Durocher of Gatineau, Quebec, as he shares his reflections on the Church as movement, how through Baptism and Confirmation “each one of us is called by God and sent in his name”, and what key elements create a renewed vision for our Christian communities, especially parishes.
This free interactive videoconference will launch a series of more focused workshops being offered between winter 2021 to summer 2022. These sessions will cover areas of parish life related to leadership, ministry and evangelization, as we navigate forward, through and post pandemic times.

Featuring
Archbishop
Paul-André Durocher
as Keynote Speaker
We are pleased to welcome guest speaker Archbishop Durocher, who was named Archbishop of Gatineau, Quebec, on November 30, 2011. He is the author of the recently-published “Called by Name, Sent in His Name: Reflections on an Outward-bound Church” (Novalis, 2019), which shares his forward-thinking, “outward-bound” vision for the Church, inspired by Pope Francis’ cue to connect more with the world around us and “hold back our fear of following new paths”.
He serves concurrently at the national level as delegate to the national Jewish-Catholic dialogue, and as a member of the standing committee for responsible ministry. He is also on the Executive of the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Québec, serving on the Council for communities and ministries. While serving as president of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, Pope Francis named him to the Pontifical Council for Culture in 2014.
