Join Archbishop Paul-Andr\u00e9 Durocher <\/strong>of\u00a0<\/strong>Gatineau, Quebec,\u00a0<\/strong>as he shares his reflections on the Church as movement, how through Baptism and Confirmation “each one of us is called by God and sent in his name”, and what key elements create a renewed vision for our Christian communities, especially parishes.<\/p>\n

We are pleased to welcome guest speaker Archbishop Durocher, who was named Archbishop of Gatineau, Quebec, on November 30, 2011. He is the author of the recently-published “Called by Name, Sent in His Name: Reflections on an Outward-bound Church”\u00a0<\/strong>(Novalis,<\/em> 2019), which shares his\u00a0forward-thinking, \u201coutward-bound\u201d vision for the Church, inspired by Pope Francis’ cue to connect more with the world around us and “hold back our fear of following new paths”.<\/span><\/p>\n

He serves concurrently at the national level as delegate to the national Jewish-Catholic dialogue, and as a member of the standing committee for responsible ministry.\u00a0 He is also on the Executive of the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Qu\u00e9bec, serving on the Council for communities and ministries.\u00a0 While serving as president of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, <\/span>Pope Francis named him to the Pontifical Council for Culture in 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n
