The Liturgical experience: a gift of transformation<\/h2>\n


<\/strong>Everyday, <\/strong>we are continually transformed by our surroundings, i.e.\u00a0 the pull of daily commitments, the people we meet, a walk reconnecting with nature, the different media we consume, etc.\u00a0 Our environment and our routine rituals help give form to our lives. In the same way, our daily\/weekly ritual – celebrating the Eucharist – can help sustain, transform, restore us within, as individuals, families and communities.<\/p>\n

Faith communities, <\/strong>however, are experiencing the changing face of community engagement, while some share a growing concern for the size and participation of their congregations, particularly in the recent aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, there has been an increase in the number of people seeking spiritual growth, depth, and connection with God, who sometimes turn to the Church for guidance, presence and support.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition<\/strong> to the accompaniment and ministries parishes have to offer, how can we help make the Liturgical experience become more relevant to one’s personal faith journey and daily life? What would a welcoming and spiritually nourishing environment of hospitality, music, and prayer look like?<\/span><\/p>\n

In November 2020, The Office for English Pastoral Services (OEPS)<\/strong> launched the first of a series of virtual <\/em>Parish Vitality<\/strong> conferences, in response to the onset of a global pandemic and with a desire to continue the community journey of parish life development through our biennial Parish Vitality Conferences (PVC)<\/strong>, the first of which was held in 2014: Doors Wide Open<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

An introduction to the Living Your Strengths (LYS)<\/em> Program:<\/p>\n

The first of a series of launches offered at both the diocesan and parish levels. Diocesan launches were held June 10 and Sept. 7. Several Montreal parishes signed up for the LYS Program as formation for their parish teams, including leadership, various ministries, and youth\/young adult groups.<\/p>\n
