PACKAGE 5 is now closed.
Package 5 is a pilgrimage that leads pilgrims to Italy before going to Lisbon.
This package includes
- Round trip flight Montreal-Rome / Lisbon-Montreal with Transat
- Transfers by bus or train according to the itinerary
- 5 nights accommodation in shared rooms, in 3* hotels in Rome and Assisi on half board basis during the cultural tour (5 breakfasts and 5 dinners included)

Itineraries for F5B and F5C have been custom built for the Diocese of Saint Hyacinthe and CYMA respectively.
Day 1: Departure from Montreal – 07/19/2023
Departure from P.E. Trudeau Airport, Montreal, for your flight with Transat
Day 2: ROME – 07/2023
Arrival at Rome airport, transfer to downtown, free time for lunch in Piazza Navona, transfer to your accommodation, mass in the chapel of the religious house, dinner and overnight stay in a religious house in Rome.
Day 3: ROME IN LIBERTY – 07/21/2023
Your MetroBus Pass allows you to visit Rome, the Eternal City, with complete freedom. Take the opportunity to visit the 3 major basilicas: the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, which houses the relics of the apostle St. Paul, the Basilica of St. John Lateran, known as the mother of all churches, and the Basilica of St. Mary Major, the largest church dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
If you have time, go to ancient Rome to admire the Colosseum, the imperial forums and the Palatine Hill. Dinner and overnight stay in a religious house in Rome.
Day 4: THE VATICAN – 07/22/2023
This day is dedicated to visiting the Vatican. In the morning, visit St. Peter’s Basilica which houses the Holy See, making it the most important building in Catholicism. Don’t hesitate to climb the dome of the basilica offering a panoramic view of St. Peter’s Square and a part of Rome. Then, go to the sacred necropolis; this ancient Roman burial site houses tombs dating back to the 1st century. You will see among others the last resting place of St. Peter himself. Afternoon, exceptional walk in the Vatican gardens. The rest of the afternoon is free.
Visit the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel at night: an unforgettable experience. Dinner and overnight in a religious house in Rome.
Day 5: ROME – CASTEL GANDOLFO – 07/23/2023
Travel by train to Castel Gandolfo to visit the Pope’s summer residence and its beautiful gardens. In addition to the Papal Apartment, five hundred years of papal history told by a multilingual audio guide during a free visit among paintings, souvenirs, liturgical vestments…… You will also have the opportunity to walk through the botanical and archaeological wonders of the Barberini Garden on board an ecological golf cart. Return by train. Rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight in a religious house in Rome.
Day 6: ROME – ASSISIA – 07/24/2023
Departure to Assisi by train or bus (depending on the number of participants). Located on a hill at the foot of Monte Subasio, the legendary city of Assisi, in Umbria, is the most famous pilgrimage site in Italy, because of St. Francis. Once there, your private guide will take you to discover the Basilica of St. Clare, dedicated to the founder of the Order of Poor Ladies, and then the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, built between 1228 and 1253. Today it houses the remains of the saint. In addition, the beautiful monument has an incredible art collection, including frescoes and paintings by Cimabue, Giotto, Lorenzetti and many others. Settling in a religious house in the village. Dinner and overnight in a religious house in Assisi.
Day 7: ASSISIA – 07/25/2023
A day of hiking in the Umbrian countryside. In the morning, climb to the Hermitage of the Carceri. It is here that St. Francis withdrew with his companions to meditate. Time for meditation. Then walk towards the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, a sumptuous monument that hides in its center the chapel of the Porziuncola. The death of Saint Francis will be evoked. Dinner and night in a religious house in Assisi.
Day 8: ASSISIA-ROME-LISBONNE – HOME DIOCESE – 07/26/2013
Return to Rome. Direction to Fiumicino airport for flight to Lisbon or Porto. Arrival in Portugal, then on to the host diocese.

Pilgrimage walk, prayer vigil with the Holy Father.

Morning Mass with the Pope, pilgrimage walk to accommodation.
Day 20: LISBON – FATIMA – 07/08/2023
Departure from Lisbon with your guide. Visit to the sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima, a major world pilgrimage center since the Catholic Church recognized, in 1930, the apparitions of the Virgin Mary received by three little shepherds in the village of Fatima during the year 1917.
In the afternoon, time for a free visit to Fatima (small train ($), houses of the saints, Way of the Cross…). Settling in to your accommodation in Fatima in a religious house within walking distance of the sanctuary. Torchlight procession in the evening on the site of the shrine. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 21: RETURN FLIGHT – 08/08/2023
Transfer to Lisbon airport for your return flight.
