While Jesus dying on the Cross makes no sense according to human wisdom, according to God’s perfect wisdom, the Cross answers all our most burning questions in a way only God can answer them.

Holy Saturday was a very quiet day; an ancient homily for the day says “Something strange is happening – there is a great silence on earth today, a great silence and stillness. The whole earth keeps silence because the King is asleep. The liturgy unfolds with symbol after symbol of the significance of this night being unveiled before our very eyes, and it all starts with light.

The Fast is Over, it’s Time to Feast
The fact that there are forty days of Lent and fifty days of Easter proclaims a very important message about the Christian life. Disciplining our senses is important, but the goal of true fasting is not to crush our senses; it’s to liberate them for true feasting. And the fifty days of Easter present the grandest feast of them all!

Fr. Mike’s Easter Special
For this first week of Easter, Fr. Mike wants us to know how important we are to Jesus. When Jesus rose from the dead, the first people he encountered were Mary Magdalene and his disciples—the ones who believed in him. This Easter, because we believe in him, he comes to us first as well, and he tells us to go spread the Good News to the rest of the world.
Fr. Mark-Mary relates a story about the CFR founder Fr. Andrew Apostoli’s last days, to convey the good that can come from going without Mass this Easter.
How can we live out the Resurrection? That’s an important question to ask during this Easter season.
