disciples, Jésus s’est servi de tous ces éléments pour les préparer à recevoir le don de l’Esprit
Saint.

De façon mystérieuse, la pandémie s’est déroulée pendant le Carême. Et alors même que
nous continuons à en subir les effets, nous sommes appelés à nous convertir, à nous attacher
davantage à Jésus Christ, à prier davantage, à pratiquer davantage les œuvres de miséricorde,
à jeûner. En ce contexte de pandémie, peut-être sommes-nous parvenus à vivre cette réalité
avec plus d'intensité.

Alors que nous célébrons la dimension de la Résurrection, nous sommes appelés à renouveler
notre foi en Jésus Christ, notre foi en sa vie, en sa présence en nos vies, parce que Jésus Christ
vient frapper sans cesse à la porte de notre cœur.

Les apôtres et les disciples étaient confinés avec Marie au Cénacle, ils ont eux aussi connu
le confinement. Non seulement étaient-ils confinés au Cénacle, mais en plus la peur les
tenaillait!
Malgré tout, ils ont continué à prier avec Marie. Et ils priaient avec ardeur, ils priaient avec
intensité en présence de Marie, dans l'attente de l'accomplissement de la promesse de Jésus
Christ, dans l'attente du don de l'Esprit Saint. Et nous savons comment, après avoir reçu le
don de l’Esprit-Saint à la Pentecôte, les apôtres sont sortis du confinement et ils sont partis
immédiatement en mission. Et la mission les a entrainés dans une aventure nouvelle.

As we are, through confinement and deconfinement, maybe readjusting the priorities of our life,
maybe we can look at the Apostles and the Disciples who are with Mary, who are praying together
waiting for the gift of the Holy Spirit, in confinement! They are in confinement in the upper house.
They are confined! They are not yet in deconfinement! Confinement phase! But they are waiting
for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Are we waiting for the gift of the Holy Spirit? And Jesus tells them,
because if I don’t give you the Holy Spirit, you won’t be able to be on a Mission. You won’t be able
to do it. You might dream to do it, maybe you’ll want to do it, but it would be impossible for you to
witness to my Love, to witness to my Life, to witness to the Son of God, to witness to Jesus Christ, if
you don’t have the gift of the Holy Spirit. It will be impossible! So like the Apostles, we are praying
Mary, waiting for the gift of the Holy Spirit. And we are waiting for the gift of the Holy Spirit, that
will transform our lives. Today, in this Vigil it’s a time for waiting. Tomorrow it’s the time of the
gift. But we want to know in advance that we cannot receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and not
