Dear SASMAD friends and volunteers
As you know, World Day of Sick is the highlight of our mission at SASMAD. All our volunteers, patients, caregivers, client support workers and friends of SASMAD’s mission to help the sick and elderly, the isolated and those more or less cared for by the healthcare system… you are all invited to join us. It’s always a beautiful day for the soul, pious, moving, rich in graces for us and the people we pray for. It’s a time for prayer, a time for inner meditation, and a time of shared hope as a group before the Lord who calls us to encounter him by visiting those who are sick. Let us bring them joy, faith and charity, praying to Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes, where so many miracles of healing take place.
The Fondation les Ami.e.s de Jeanne Mance graciously invites you to a community meal after Mass (see program below).

The SASMAD team thanks you for your participation.
Prayer for WDS 2025 (SASMAD)
Lord God of all Love,
We present to you the elderly, the sick, and all those who are waiting for a better life. Pour forth in their hearts your Hope,
You are the source of Joy and Peace.
May this Star of the night draw to you messengers ready to give of themselves to visit those who thirst for your Presence in the midst of their solitude.
Jesus, great Messenger of Hope,
fill our hearts thirsting for your tenderness, truth, and justice.
Stay close and hold our hands
in moments of doubt.
Be our Beacon
throughout this jubilee year of Hope.
Amen

MESSAGE OF HIS HOLINESS POPE FRANCIS
XXXIII WORLD DAY OF THE SICK
11 February 2025
“Hope does not disappoint” (Rom 5:5),
but strengthens us in times of trial
Dear brothers and sisters,
We are celebrating the 33rd World Day of the Sick in the Jubilee Year 2025, in which the Church invites us to become “pilgrims of
hope”. The word of God accompanies us and offers us, in the words of Saint Paul, an encouraging message: “Hope does not
disappoint” (Rom 5:5); indeed, it strengthens us in times of trial.
